My name is Martin Leduc
Where do you live ?
In Nanaimo near Victoria, the capital city of the province of British Columbia on Canada's West Coast.
Editor's Note: For our Americans visitors. Yes we do have Electricity. No, Canada is not a frozen wasteland. No, Naantook is not my neighbor. Rocky and Bullwinkle are cartoon characters. Yes our money is worth more than monopoly money, not much more thought.
Why is your web address so long?
It use to be, but I have fixed that. You can now find me more easily by typing into your web browser www.martinleduc.com or www.dieselduck.net for the marine engineering page.
Do you have a family ?
Julie and I were married and had our first child in 2005, we are expecting our second in 2007. I do have many siblings, you can meet them here.
What do you do for a living ?
I am a Merchant Marine Officer. A 3rd Class Marine Engineer in particular.
Do you have friends ?
Yes. I feel very fortunate to be surrounded by many persons whom I call friends. Meet some of them here.
What activities do you like to participate in ?
I am always eager for a hike in our majestic BC forests or mountain biking around. I'm also into computers and any other tinkering that's laying around ie. re-modeling our recently acquired house.
What kind of music do you listen to ?
All sorts, I enjoy techno and alternative rock. Such as 'Moby' 'Papa Roach' 'Chemical Brothers' 'Rammstein' 'Jamiroquai' 'LimpBizkit' "Tom Jones" and "ABBA" too. Whatever, as long as it not rap or country! I'm most often listening to DigitallyImported.com when online.
Are you ignoring my attempts at contacting you ?
No. Chances are, you are missing me because I am working on the ship, out at sea. Communication is sometimes unreliable or unpractical.
Who invented the sandwich ?
In 1762 the Fourth earl of Sandwich invented the sandwich. After inhaling some kind of plant fumes in Amsterdam, he complained of "having the munchies". The rest is history.

Why are manhole covers round ?
So they don't fall in the hole !
How many speeding tickets have you received ?
Approximately 16 so far in my ten years driving. Give or take a few. Sorry patience is not my biggest virtue.

What is the philosophy of existentialism ?
It's a philosophy of the 19 and 20 th century. The dogma holds that since there are no universal values, man's essence is not pre-dermined but is based only on free choice; man is in a state of anxiety because of his realization of free will; and there is no objective truths. Guys like Nietzsche, Sartre, Jasper and Wanda's "brother" in the movie "A fish called Wanda" peddled this philosophy.
What do you do for hobbies ?
My life, like many peoples, is pretty busy. But a website development, model trains, liver and auditory training have been known to take up my time.

Where is the deepest lake in North America ?
Well that would have to be, at 2000 feet deep, the extinct volcano crater know as Crater Lake. It's located in Crater Lake National Park near Medford Oregon in the United States.
Marty, Why does your website look so weird ?
Sometimes the chosen fonts and colors for a web page do not come through because these web pages were designed with Internet Explorer 5 in mind.
